The album will be released through Goofin’ Records and continues Mike Bell & The Belltones' exploration of melodious and rhythmic rock’n’roll.
Mike Bell & The Belltones is a Helsinki-based rockabilly band formed in 2008 and known for their authentic interpretation of 1950s rockabilly and energetic live performances. Inspired by the likes of Carl Perkins and Johnny Burnette, the band has captivated audiences worldwide with their electrifying performances at major rock’n’roll festivals and clubs across the USA, Japan, and Europe. They gained further recognition when their concert was featured on Finnish National television, YLE. Additionally, the band has collaborated and shared the stage with American rockabilly icon, Huelyn Duvall.
Lightning Bolt', the band's fourth studio album, is set to be released through Goofin' Records on May 17. The album was recorded in Berlin, Germany and Gothenburg, Sweden and it captures the raw energy and authenticity of the band's live performances, utilizing analog recording techniques and vintage equipment from the 1950s. The band lineup features Mike Bell aka Miikka Siira on vocals and rhythm guitar, Timo Kalijärvi on lead guitar, Iikku Riepponen on double bass, and Jarno Saario on drums.
Prior to ‘Lightning Bolt’, Mike Bell & The Belltones have released three critically acclaimed albums, along with a series of singles and EP’s. ‘Lightning Bolt’ promises to deliver a pulsating blend of vintage charm and contemporary energy, showcasing the band’s unwavering dedication to the timeless art of rockabilly.
