Roddy Radiation was a founding member, guitar player and song writing contributor of The SPECIALS. His credits include co-writing the first release and hit single "Gangsters" as well as writing "Hey Little Rich Girl". He also wrote and sang their hits "Concrete Jungle" and "Rat Race". After three of the other founding members left the band in the early 80's Roddy showcased his singing, guitar playing and songwriting talents with the rest of the SPECIALS in the mid-90's. SKABILLY REBEL-The RODDY RADIATION ANTHOLOGY, chronicles Roddy's musical explorations outside the boundaries of the Specials two-tone ska. Ska was not the only musical form that piqued Roddy's interest. He also drew heavily from the 50's Teddy Boy movement in England that became rockabilly, English style. Combing ska and rockabilly, Roddy christened the musical style skabilly. This record is a collection of works by Roddy Radiation and his bands the BONEDIGGERS, TEARJERKERS and The RAIDERS and it's musical mix of influences as diverse as The SPECIALS, the STRAY CATS and HANK WILLIAMS.
